Liverpool are ready to pursue a move for Danny Ings following Burnley’s relegation back to the Championship, according to the Daily Star.
The 24 year old, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, is soon to be out-of-contract though his age means that any side that signs him will have to pay around £3m in compensation.
Since arriving at Turf Moor from Swindon Town in August 2011 , the England U21 international has racked up one hundred and forty-two appearances, scoring forty-two goals – ten of which have come in the Premier League this season.
His latest strike was the winner in Saturday’s victory over Hull City – though the win was not enough to save the Clarets from an immediate return to the Championship after just one season back in the top flight.
Sean Dyche’s men host Stoke City on Saturday afternoon, and Ings the 5/1 favourite to open the scoring.
