Sport Mediaset understands that Premier League giants Liverpool are keeping close tabs on AC Milan full-back Mattia De Sciglio.
The Reds attempted to recruit a left-sided defender in the final days of the summer transfer window after Alberto Moreno had enjoyed a poor start to the new season.
According to Sport Mediaset, Liverpool made an official proposal for Mattia De Sciglio, but AC Milan were not interested.
The Rossoneri will instead offer the talented footballer a new contract, considering that his current deal is due to expire in June 2018.
Much will depend on the outcome of contract talks and AC Milan might be ready to listen to offers for their prized asset if they see that De Sciglio is not too keen on staying.
Mattia De Sciglio has so far made 86 league appearances for the Rossoneri, while earning 27 Italy caps, but he hasn’t quite managed to realise his full potential.
