Liverpool are interested in signing Joao Palhinha from Premier League rivals Fulham, according to Anfield Watch. Palhinha signed a new contract with Fulham in September, but that has not stopped Liverpool from showing interest in the Portugal international defensive midfielder.
The report has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp personally wanted to sign Palhinha in the summer transfer window, but Fulham did not want to sell him on the final day because of a lack of replacement. Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool are still keen.
Palhinha has made 41 appearances in the Premier League for Fulham so far in his career. The defensive midfielder has scored four goals in those games. Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from eight matches, while Fulham are currently 12th with 11 points from eight games.
