French newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Liverpool are in pole position to sign French forward Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
The talented footballer has started to realise his undoubted potential and his impressive showings this season did not go unnoticed.
Lacazette is reportedly on the radar of six major European clubs, but L’Equipe understands that Liverpool lead the race for his signature at the moment.
The Reds plan to add at least another quality attacker to their ranks in the summer and the Frenchman appear to be high on their hit-list.
Alexandre Lacazette is a product of Lyon’s youth academy and he has so far managed 23 goals in 102 Ligue 1 outings.
He has been especially impressive this season, making 32 league appearances and scoring 14 goals in the process.
Following the goalless draw against Toulouse, Lyon play host to Bastia later today, with les Gones 2/5 favourites to claim maximum points.
