Liverpool are leading Arsenal in the race to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to the Daily Star.
The England international has been linked with a £40m move away from the Bet 365 outfit and both Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger have been linked with a move for a new shot-stopper in recent times.
However it is the Merseyside outfit who have been installed as favourites to secure the services of the twenty-four year old.
Butland moved to Stoke from Birmingham City in the summer of 2013 and has since racked up seventy-seven appearances in all competitions while he has been capped just six times for his country having made his debut in 2012.
However, he is expected to add to that tally this year with him seemingly the front runner to be England’s first choice to start at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.
