Liverpool are lining up a summer bid for Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, according to Daily Mail.
Following some very disappointing showings by first choice keeper Pepe Reina, Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for a new number one.
He has been linked with a move for Stoke shot-stopper Asmir Begovic, but with the Bosnian closing in on a switch to Old Trafford, Rodgers is forced to look elsewhere.
Daily Mail understands the Reds have now made Wigan keeper Ali Al Habsi their number one target, with the Oman international also a cheaper alternative to Begovic.
Al Habsi, 31, is recognized by many as one of Premier League’s top keepers and he has been performing at a very high level ever since he joined the Latics from Bolton in the summer of 2010.
The experienced keeper has made a total of 98 Premier League appearances for the Lancashire outfit.
