Metro has suggested that Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Toulouse centre-back Aymen Abdennour.
Brendan Rodgers is desperately searching for a successor to retiring Jamie Carragher, but that has proved to be a very difficult task.
The Reds have yet to make a move on any of their summer targets, although Metro understands that Aymen Abdennour has moved to the top of their hit-list.
Liverpool had the player watched in last night’s Marseille vs Toulouse game as they prepare a £5 million bid for the footballer’s services.
Abdennour, 23, has largely impressed in French Ligue 1 since joining Toulouse from Etoile Sahel and he has even been linked with a switch to Camp Nou.
The Tunisia international, who was paid mere €500,000 two years back, has clocked up 61 Ligue 1 appearances for le Tefece, scoring 3 goals in the process.
