Liverpool linked with Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong

Liverpool are interested in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that the Reds are looking at the Netherlands international midfielder as a potential replacement for Ryan Gravenberch.

Fichajes has noted that Real Madrid are keen on Gravenberch, so if Liverpool lose the Netherlands international midfielder to Los Blancos in the middle of the season, then they could make a move for De Jong.

De Jong has been on the books of Barcelona since 2019 and has established himself as one of the better midfielders in La Liga. During his time at Barca so far, the 27-year-old has won La Liga and the Copa del Rey once each. The midfielder has scored one goal and provided one assist in seven La Liga matches and has made one start and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Barcelona so far this season.
