Liverpool linked with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite

Liverpool are interested in signing Jarrad Branthwaite from Merseyside rivals Everton in the summer transfer window, according to Goal. The report has claimed that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are keeping tabs on Branthwaite and have been impressed by how the central defender is doing in loan spell at PSV in the Eredivisie at the moment.

However, according to the report, it is unlikely that Liverpool will be able to secure the services of the 20-year-old centre-back due to the rivalry with Everton. The two Merseyside clubs are fierce rivals, and it is very unlikely that the Toffees will sell any of their players to the Reds.

Branthwaite has made 12 starts and five substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for PSV during his loan spell so far this season, scoring two goals in the process. The young defender has also made three appearances in the UEFA Europa League and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
