Liverpool are interested in signing Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Liverpool’s plan is for Trent Alexander-Arnold to play in midfield, so the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners want to get in a new right-back.
Frimpong has been on the books of Bayer since 2021 when he joined from Celtic. The 23-year-old Netherlands international has established himself as one of the best young right-backs in the Bundesliga. He can also play as a right wing-back. Frimpong has scored eight goals and given seven assists in 26 Bundesliga matches and has scored two goals in five UEFA Europa League games this season.
Liverpool are second in the Bundesliga table at the moment with 71 points from 31 matches, level on points with leaders Arsenal, who are ahead on goal difference. Meanwhile, Bayer currently find themselves at the top of the Bundesliga table with 76 points from 28 games, 16 points clear of second-placed and defending champions Bayern Munich.
