Liverpool are currently fighting to finally win the Premier League title, but that does not mean their plans for the summer are not happening in the meantime. As several English media are reporting this weekend, the Reds are interested in signing Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo. The Uruguayan striker is Liverpool’s latest target as their former striker Luis Suarez is a probable link between the two sides.
Suarez and Gomez play together for the national team of Uruguay and Gomez seems to be ready for a step up from Celta. The Galician side is in big trouble, as they sit just two points ahead of the relegation zone with 12 matches to be played in Spanish La Liga. However, that could be an even better thing from Liverpool’s standpoint.
Liverpool are looking at the 22-year old forward to be their next big thing and offer a different style to the current team. The reported figure is £35m, but if Celta get relegated this spring, then the Reds could even get a better deal.
