Premier League club Liverpool have submitted a £30 million bid for Gremio forward Luan, the Brazilian radio station Futebol de Gaucha has reported.
The 23-year-old Brazil international has put in an impressive display for the Brazilian Olympic team this summer helping the Selecao claim gold at the Olympics in Rio by netting twice at the tournament.
Liverpool are believed to have identified Luan as a perfect replacement for Daniel Sturridge, who has dropped down in the pecking order and has gone out of favour with Jurgen Klopp after his recent public comments about his place in the team.
Manchester United had also shown interest in the highly-rated Brazilian youngster, who is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield where he will be given the chance to play alongside his compatriots Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
Gremio are ready to consider Liverpool’s offer although the transfer could prove to be complicated due to the third-party involvement in the player’s contract.
