(GSM) – English giants Liverpool did as expected to beat Steaua Bucuresti 4-1 in UEFA Europa League Group K, while Napoli and Utrecht held each other to a goalless draw.
Liverpool’s new signing Joe Cole proved his value in the very first minute against Romania’s Steaua, scoring to give his team a perfect Europa League start.
Cristian Tanase restored the balance in the 13th minute but David N’Got made it 2-1 from the penalty spot ten minutes after the break.
Lucas then made it 3-1 in the 81st minute, before N’Gog netted his second of the night for 4-1 in added time.
Utrecht, who surprisingly eliminated Celtic in the preliminary round of this tournament, dominated throughout most of the match at Italian side Napoli but failed to hit the target, 0-0.
