(GSM) – Liverpool have reportedly made a £2.75million bid for Aston Villa full-back Luke Young.

Villa manager Martin O’Neill confirmed that the 31-year-old is considering the offer as the club is ready to let the English defender leave should he wish to do so.

“There has been an offer from a football club, which Luke is mulling over,” O’Neill told Villa’s official website.

“If it doesn’t materialise then he would also join us (in Portugal) because he needs to play some football soon.”

“We will see how that develops.”

Young joined Villa from Middlesbrough in 2008 and has made more than 50 appearances for the club during his two years at Villa Park.
