Liverpool to meet Parejo’s release clause

Spanish daily newspaper Superdeporte understands that Liverpool are closing in on Valencia midfielder Daniel Parejo.

The Reds have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old some two months ago and it appears they are stepping up their efforts to sign the highly rated footballer.

According to Superdeporte, Liverpool seem ready to meet Parejo’s €25 million release clause in an attempt to lure him to Anfield this summer.

The Real Madrid graduate has recently managed to kick-start his career at Valencia and he has been especially impressive since Juan Antonio Pizzi took over the reigns.

Parejo has made a total of 30 La Liga appearances this season and managed 4 goals and 5 assists in the process.

The experienced midfielder has already spent some time in England, having enjoyed a six month loan spell with QPR during the 2008/2009 season, when he made 14 Championship appearances for the Loftus Road outfit.
