Liverpool have offered Pedro Chirivella a new five-year contract, according to a number of reports.
The 23-year-old is about to become a free agent as his current deal nears its expiration date at the end of June, along with fellow midfielder Adam Lallana and defender Nathaniel Clyne. Several clubs have been credited with serious interest in signing him as a free agents, with recent reports suggesting he was close to agreeing a switch to Nantes, while Rangers boss Steven Gerrard apparently received a glowing report on his attitude and tactical nous.
However, Chirivella has impressed in the small number of games he was given as a chance to prove his worth, and Liverpool are now looking to keep hold of the young prospect as they take thought for the future. They believe the offer of a five-year deal and the stability it brings could be enough to convince the Spaniard to stay put.
