Liverpool have encountered another stumbling block in their pre-season, drawing 3-3 with Norwegian club Valerenga on Monday.
Hosts Valerenga led 2-0 inside 20 minutes of action in their friendly in Oslo, as Lars Iver Strand and Fegor Ogude both struck early to stun the Merseysiders.
To Liverpool’s credit, though, they fought back with a goal just prior to the break, as Andy Carroll’s powerful header found the back of the net.
The Reds hit the lead late in the game, courtesy of Daniel Agger’s quick-fire brace, the Danish centre-back striking in the 84th and 89th minute respectively.
But the Reds could not hold onto their lead, as Mohammed Fellah slammed an equaliser past Pepe Reina deep into injury time to secure a worthy draw.
Close-season signings Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson all started for Kenny Dalglish’s side.
