Premier League giants Liverpool have been struggling defensively this season, so naturally Jurgen Klopp is looking to RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in an attempt to outscore all opposition, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Merseyside club have conceded 16 goals this season, meaning that a lot of pressure has fallen on the shoulders of Liverpool’s forwards. The Reds have found the back of the net 17 times but the need to constantly outscore their opponents has seen them slip to sixth place in the Premier League table.
Perhaps the addition of Timo Werner, a man who scored 21 goals in the Bundesliga last season, will tip the balance in favour of Liverpool offensively. The German striker is just 21-years old and has carried his good form into this season, netting five times in eight appearances.
Leipzig are reportedly keen to avoid shipping their talented young forward off to rivals Bayern Munich, which will certainly put Liverpool amongst the front runners in the race to acquire Werner’s signature.
