Liverpool are set to offer AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli a four year contract worth £90,000 per week, according to the Metro.
The Merseyside club have long been linked with Italy international, but have so far failed to match the Serie A side’s £19.9m valuation of the player.
The 24 year old moved to the Rossoneri eighteen months ago, and has since made fifty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring thirty goals.
Prior to his switch to the San Siro, Balotelli spent two-and-a-half years at Manchester City where he won the FA Cup and Premier League title, while he also won a host of major honours during three years with Internazionale.
Internationally, he has been capped thirty-three time, and scored his thirteenth goal for his country in their 2-1 win over England at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
Liverpool, who began the 2014/15 campaign with a 2-1 home win over Southampton on Sunday afternoon, face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening.
