Liverpool ready to offload Emre Can

Premier League giants Liverpool are seriously thinking about cashing in on German midfielder Emre Can at the end of the season, the Daily Mirror has suggested.

The 23-year-old has just over a year left on his current deal at Anfield and he was offered a new contract few months ago.

However, Can’s agents are far from happy with the proposal they have received as they want the Reds to double the player’s current wage of £35,000 per week.

Liverpool officials do not seem prepared to meet those demands as they have been far from impressed with the talented midfielder and his performances this season, meaning that a summer exit is a realistic possibility.

If Can refuses to sign a new deal until the end of the season, the Reds will inform interested clubs they are ready to listen to offers, and there are quite a few sides expected to come forward with official proposals.

Italian champions Juventus are one of his suitors, while others include Bundesliga clubs RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim.
