Liverpool are preparing a summer swoop for Fiorentina winger Juan Manuel Vargas, The Sun has revealed.
The Reds are desperate to reinforce the squad in the summer after what will have been another disappointing season and they have already started identifying targets.
According to The Sun, Fiorentina midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas is one of the first names on their shortlist.
The Peruvian is widely tipped to leave Artemio Franchi at the end of the season, with a number of high-profile clubs on alert.
The 27-year-old can cover a number of positions in defence and midfield, and his versatility is one of the reasons why Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is interested.
However, the Peruvian international won’t come on the cheap seeing that Fiorentina recently rejected an £8 million bid from Bayern Munich for the midfielder.
Juan Manuel Vargas has failed to score a single goal in 24 Serie A appearances this season, but he did contribute with 8 assists.
