The Daily Star understands that Liverpool will be able to sign Birmingham City winger Demarai Gray for £3m next summer.
The nineteen year old has attracted suitors from the Premier League over the summer, with newcomers Bournemouth tabling a £5m bid which was subsequently turned down.
Gray penned a new contract, though the deal includes a buy-out clause that the Reds are ready to match.
Since breaking into the Birmingham first team in October 2013, the teenager has racked up sixty-one appearances, scoring seven goals.
He was named his club’s Academy Player of the Season at the end of the 2013/14 campaign, while internationally he has been capped at every level from U18 to U20.
His last outing for Gary Rowett’s men came in Tuesday evening’s League Cup third round defeat to rivals Aston Villa.
Next up for Birmingham is a visit from bottom of the table Rotherham United, and the home win is priced at 1/1.
