Liverpool reignite interest in Lavezzi

Daily Express is reporting that Liverpool could make a fresh assault on Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Argentine has another two years left on his deal at Parc des Princes and while he was prepared to sign a contract extension, he may now change his mind.

Namely, Lavezzi seems to have lost his place in the starting line-up, having failed to start any of club’s six matches this season, meaning that he could consider a January exit.

Liverpool have been alerted by the latest developments and they are looking to test PSG’s resolve with a January bid.

The Reds are, however, expected to face stiff competition from other top clubs, seeing as how Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Fiorentina are all believed to be keen.

Lavezzi, 29, has scored a total of 12 goals in 63 league outings for the Saints, while he made six appearances for Argentina on the road to the second-place finish at the 2014 World Cup.
