Liverpool have rejected an offer from Swansea City for Harry Wilson, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old midfielder obviously has no place in manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans this season and it was certainly a surprise to see him start in the Merseysiders’ Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal last month, even though a rotated line-up was expected for that match. Over the summer, there was interest in his services from Burnley and discussions over a proposed move to Turf Moor were held, but no agreement was found and the Clarets soon turned elsewhere.
A few days ago, reports broke that Swansea were the favorites to land the Wales international on loan for the season, with Liverpool being pleased with the influence the Swans had over striker Rhian Brewster who later joined Sheffield United for £23.5 million. However, it seems the Premier League champions are not happy with the financial commitment the Championship side are prepared to make in the deal.
Derby County, who have already had Wilson on loan, are keen on another such spell, as are Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City.
