Liverpool are weighing up a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi, according to Marca.
The Reds need to add more quality players to the centre of the park in the summer seeing as Steven Gerrard is leaving and Lucas Leiva could follow.
And Spanish daily newspaper Marca has suggested that Liverpool are ready to reignite their interest in Real’s Asier Illarramendi.
The former Real Sociedad midfielder has no future at Santiago Bernabeu and he will probably be available for sale in the summer.
But, even if a number of La Liga sides are keen on his signature, the 25-year-old reportedly prefers a move to English Premier League.
Illarramendi joined Real Madrid in a big money move from Real Sociedad two years back, but he never quite managed to prove his worth to the club chiefs.
He has made 52 league appearances for los Blancos, scoring two goals in the process, while featuring in six Champions League matches.
