According to numerous sources, Liverpool are set to complete the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion this week. Personal terms have been agreed, the medical should be completed within the next 48 hours, and the Merseysiders have agreed to trigger the release clause in the 24-year-old’s contract, which now appears to be significantly less than previous reports suggested.

The Argentina international, a 2022 World Cup winner, has been one of the most important players for the Seagulls breakthrough in 2022/23, doing a great deal to help them qualify for the Europa League next term, before leaving the Amex Stadium.
He is now set to become the first signing of the summer for Liverpool as they aim to rebuild their midfield section. Talks have reportedly been held over Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone and Nice’s Kephren Thuram, and the six-time European champions are monitoring Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga too.
