Premier League high flyers Liverpool are close to signing talented defender Emeka Obi from Bury, Liverpool Echo has suggested.
The Reds have been hot on the trail of the 15-year-old footballer for quite some time and they have now decided to make their interest concrete.
Bury are ready to consider selling their prized asset, but they are holding out for a six-figure transfer fee, while also requesting a number of add-ons.
The 15-year-old was handed his first team debut back in August and Bury managed David Flitcroft believes he is among the hottest talents in the whole of England.
Obi is already 6 feet 5 inches tall and is referred to as “man mountain” by his current manager, who was full of praise for the defender’s behaviour since joining the first team training.
Meanwhile, Liverpool plan to wrap up the deal as soon as possible and add the youngster to their under-18 squad.
