Liverpool are on the brink of agreeing a deal to sign Rennes midfielder Sylvain Marveaux at the end of the season.
The highly rated midfielder who missed a big part of the season through injury has rejected a new contract from Rennes admits speculations linking him to a number of top European clubs.
Liverpool director of football strategy, Damien Comolli, has reportedly persuaded the midfielder that his future lies at Anfield and the Reds are expected to close the deal within next few days.
The 24-year-old will move to Anfield when his contract expires in the summer and is expected to add a new dimension to Liverpool midfield.
Marveaux is a very gifted player who can play on either wing or as a central midfielder, with his creativity and vision set to be a major asset to Kenny Dalglish’s side.
