Despite recent reports crediting Liverpool with interest in Loic Bade, according to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, the Merseysiders are yet to show any sign of planning to sign the Sevilla defender.
This summer, Liverpool parted ways with Joel Matip as the Cameroonian’s contract expired. The vacancy was expected to be filled by either a new signing or 22-year-old Sepp van den Berg being given a chance, but no new centre-back came and Van den Berg has left the club to join Brentford on a permanent deal. The situation could’ve turned even more serious towards the end of the window as Joe Gomez reportedly considered leaving Anfield as well.
Bade was linked with Liverpool throughout the summer, but in the end, he chose to stay put and sign a new five-year contract with Sevilla. It apparently includes a €60 million release clause, which shouldn’t make him too expensive for a club like Liverpool, but as has been said, the Reds have taken no steps towards making the transfer happen as of yet.
