Liverpool sign Johnson

Liverpool FC have confirmed the signing of Portsmouth’s Glen Johnson.

A Club statement on the club’s official site confirmed this.

“Liverpool FC confirmed this evening that they had reached an agreement with Portsmouth Football Club and with Glen Johnson for the transfer of the player to Anfield.”

The 24 year-old player, who also represents England, is Liverpool’s first signing of the season.

Johnson, who had played for Chelsea before joining Pompey, turned down an offer from the London club.

The deal is estimated to be around $ 36 million, making him one of the highest parid right back in the English Premier League.
