Big changes are expected at Liverpool this summer, with manager Jurgen Klopp leaving after eight years in charge and Arne Slot set to take over from the charismatic German. There will surely be changes within the playing squad as well, but Luis Diaz, judging by what he’s told the club’s official website, won’t be going anywhere.
Barcelona were credited with interest in the 27-year-old winger a while back, but Liverpool reportedly told them Diaz was not for sale. More recent reports suggested Paris Saint-Germain were considering a move for his services as they plan for the future of their attacking line without Kylian Mbappe, but Diaz himself says he expects great things still to happen at Anfield.
“From the beginning of my career to today, I feel that with the passage of days, of years, living each experience in each different team, coming to this great club that is Liverpool, leaves you with a lot of learnings, ” Diaz said.
“You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good guy. The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.”
