Liverpool step up interest in Ajax’s Eriksen

ESPN understands that Liverpool are weighing up a summer move for Ajax star Christian Eriksen.

The Reds boosted their ranks with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window, and they aim to continue recruiting young and talented footballers in the summer.

According to ESPN, Liverpool have moved to the front of the queue to sign Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The 20-year-old has just informed club chiefs that he won be signing a new deal at Amsterdam ArenA, and with his current contract set to expire in June 2014, Ajax have no choice but to cash in on their prized asset at the end of the season.

Liverpool are set to face a stiff competition for the player’s signature, but Eriksen’s desire to play in the English Premier League might just prevail.

The Denmark international has been in fine form this season, scoring 6 goals and producing as many assists in 21 Eredivisie matches.
