Liverpool still want Alaba

According to a recent report from AS, Liverpool are still eager to try and sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba – but there’s a catch.

While Alaba is one of the most intriguing transfer stories of the year heading into the summer transfer window, there’s still a lot of speculation surrounding his wages – and that’s precisely the reason why Liverpool are so hesitant. They like Alaba a lot and are willing to take a leap of faith with him, but what they aren’t willing to do is pay the kind of wages that is being asked of them right now.

It’s pretty clear to see that Liverpool need an injection of life in one way or another after their recent run of bad form in the Premier League, but if they want Alaba to come in and be their knight in shining armour, they may have to stump up some more cash.
