The future of RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is currently one of the hottest transfer topics out there. Plenty of reports are popping up daily, suggesting various scenarios for the 24-year-old forward. One of the latest comes from the Independent‘s Melissa Reddy, who is usually well-informed on anything Liverpool-related.
And according to Reddy, the Champions League holders remain Werner’s preferred destination, should he leave Leipzig this summer.
Back in February, the Germany international praised Liverpool and their manager Jurgen Klopp as the ‘best in the world’, and expressed his belief that his style would suit the Premier League leaders rather well. However, reports have since claimed that his representatives are in talks with Inter Milan and Juventus over a potential Serie A move, with Liverpool not very likely to sanction a big-money move for an attacking player in these financially uncertain times.
While Reddy also says the financial impact of the Covid-19 is yet to be assessed, she also claims Liverpool haven’t dropped their interest in Werner for the time being.
