Liverpool target drops quit hint

Newcastle United left-back Jose Enrique has revealed that he wouldn’t mind leaving the club in the summer.

The Spaniard who is a target for both Liverpool and Arsenal seems to have set his sights on leaving St James Park.

“If I have to continue here, I am happy. If I have to go, I am happy, too. I am happy in England. If I have to go to another league, I’m happy,” Enrique was quoted as saying.

“I know there are some difficult things in the club. I want to play football. It is my life and it helps me a lot. My family is in a good position now and I don’t care where I have to go.

“Next season is my last season here. I concentrate playing my games and wait to the summer, or maybe next summer.

“We don’t speak about the contract yet. I don’t speak about it yet, as I am happy. I am very happy here.”
