Liverpool are interested in Copenhagen’s Robin Olsen, according to the Mirror.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper is currently at the World Cup and his performances for both Sweden and Copenhagen have been impressive.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp had decided to give Loris Karius a proper chance halfway through the 2017/18 season and permanently benched Simon Mignolet. The former Mainz 05 ’keeper was doing well until the horror show that, unfortunately for him, happened in the Champions League final.
Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper target has been Alisson Becker of AS Roma, also currently at the tournament in Russia, but the Mirror believe the Brazilian is set to move to Santiago Bernabeu despite Real Madrid winning three consecutive Champions League titles with Keylor Navas between the posts.
This would have forced Klopp to start looking elsewhere, and Olsen has emerged among the potential candidates to take the number one spot at Liverpool. Apart from him, the Reds are also looking at Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha.
