Ivory Coast international Gervinho could be on the move next summer as he doesn’t plan to accept Lille’s latest contract offer.
The 23-year-old forward has attracted a lot of attention with his performances for Lille and he is thought to be looking for a new challenge.
Les Gones have offered the player a new and improved contract as his current one is set to expire in June 2012, but Gervinho is unlikely to accept it as he plans to leave the club at the end of the season.
The latest news will alert a number of interested clubs, such as Liverpool, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid since Lille could be forced to sell the forward in the summer should he reject a contract extension.
Les Gones paid €8 million for Gervinho when he arrived from Le Mans and while his price have soared since, Lille may have to settle for a fee in the region of €10 million after failing to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
Gervinho’s versatility and an eye for the goal make him one of the best forwards in Europe at the moment with clubs like Bayern Munich and Liverpool likely to jump at the chance to sign him at a cut back price.

Premier League keeper hints at summer transfer
Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey reveals that he may have to leave the club if they fail to avoid relegation.
The Wales international keeper is reportedly tracked by Manchester City and he says that Premier League football is a must if he is to remain Wales number one.
“I still feel I have to prove myself at this level and hopefully I can help Wolves stay in the Premier League,” Hennessey told Express & Star.
“It’s the highest standard a player can play and I need to keep playing there to keep my Wales place.
“Neville Southall always played in the top flight and it’s great to know he’s a big fan of mine.
“I used to watch Nev a lot and it would be great to follow in his footsteps and keep playing at the top for so long.”
The 24-year-old keeper was relegated to bench in the midst of the season, but he soon returned to the starting line-up and his impressive showings are one of the reasons why Wolves still have a chance of avoiding the drop.
Heynckes admits Bayern contact
Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes has revealed that he had already met with Bayern Munich official to negotiate a summer move to Alianz Arena.
The experienced coach who is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season confirmed that he had met with Bayern officials on Thursday afternoon.
“Yes, we were at my home in Schwalmtal together on Thursday afternoon,” Heynckes told Bild.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, financial advisor Karl Hopfner and sporting director Christian Nerlinger all attended the meeting.
“This was a very good discussion, both the gentlemen in front of FC Bayern and I have agreed to continue the talks,” Heynckes added.
It now seems that the two parties are very close to reaching an agreement and there is no doubt that the experienced manager will take over at Bayern from the start of the next season.
Heynckes faces a tough task at Alianz Arena as he not only needs to rebuild the team but also to improve the team’s fortunes, but after enjoying a very successful season with Bayer Leverkusen, he looks capable of doing something similar with Bayern.
