According to The Daily Telegraph, Liverpool are lining up a move for Valencia winger David Silva after losing patience with other potential targets.
The Daily Telegrahp reports that Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is getting tired in his pursuit for Newcastle’s James Milner and Espanyol’s Albert Riera, and has now made Silva his new target.
Silva, 22, can play on either wing or up front and is arguably one of Valencia’s top prospects. His skillful style of play has caught the eye of many over the past few season and Valencia will be relucatant to sell such a top talent.
Valencia, who only narrowly avoided the drop last season, have built up large debts at the club which could spark a wild transfer spree which may see a mass exodus of top names leave the Mestalla. Silva is expected to join David Villa, Joaquin, Raul Albiol and Miguel in an exodus at Valencia.
Valencia are believed to have valued Silva at around £20 million, but Benitez will most likely look to cash in on the financial trouble at the Mestalla by offering around half that price.
Silva’s team-mate David Villa is also said to be on Benitez’s wish-list, although Valencia’s £30 valuation may prove to high for Liverpool.
