According to several sources, most notably The Times journalist Paul Joyce and Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph, Liverpool received inquiries from both AS Roma and Sevilla about a possibility of a loan move for Xherdan Shaqiri this month, but both clubs have received negative replies.
Liverpool are on course to win the fist English top flight title in exactly three decades, sitting 16 points above Manchester City in second place, with a game in hand over the defending champions as well. Apart from that, they will certainly give their best to try and keep the Champions League trophy at Anfield for another year, while also competing for the FA Cup. Though Shaqiri has been far from a regular started this term, it’s obviously vital for a club involved on several fronts to have proper squad depth.
However, the real piece of news here is that there could be a chance of the Swiss international leaving Anfield in the summer, but only on a permanent basis, as things stand, for no less than €30 million.
