Liverpool to enter Tonali race?

Sandro Tonali of Brescia has been attracting attention of some of the biggest clubs around Europe throughout the season with his ability to dictate play from the middle of the park, at a level usually way beyond the power of 19-year-old players. Quite capable of performing both in a box-to-box role and as the shield in front of the back line, he seems like a player that would fit the bill at almost any club. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Napoli have all been credited with interest, while Manchester City reportedly went a step further by sending scouts to watch him play back in November.

But now, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Liverpool have also entered the fray. The Champions League holders have apparently contacted Brescia to establish a few things regarding the possibility of Tonali moving to Anfield.

Manager Jurgen Klopp recently signed a new contract keeping him at Liverpool until 2024, which has been widely perceived as commitment to building a new team once the current crop of key players enter their declining years. Tonali might be a part of such a plan, but it remains to be seen how hard the Reds push for his signature.
