Liverpool have prepared a plan to bring in Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in January, according to the Express. Apparently, it would be a deal that would see the striker return to his current club on loan for the rest of the season.
The Champions League holders have previously been linked with the Germany international through many reports over the last year, though links with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United have also been frequent.
The reports quotes a “transfer expert” by the name of Ian McGarry, who believes Werner is tremendously disappointed that his move to Bayern fell through, and that an agreement with Liverpool might go a long way in easing that disappointment. It would also enable Leipzig to get the full season’s worth of work from the 23-year-old who already has eight strikes in all competitions to his name, while the Premier League leaders would get a younger player to complement their already superb front line.
