Liverpool are one of the clubs that have made an informal enquiry about the availability of Gleison Bremer this summer, according to Neil Jones of Goal.com, but a move to Anfield for the 25-year-old Torino defender appears unlikely at the moment.
As things stand at the moment, Inter Milan are believed to be leading the race to land Bremer, valued at €25 million, ahead of Liverpool and Juventus. The Nerazzurri appear to have taken concrete steps towards the transfer, unlike the latter two.
And as for Liverpool, they’re not very likely to step up the pursuit and challenge Inter on that front, for one very simple reason; in Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez, their centre-back ranks are well-stocked. Rhys Williams (21) and Sepp van den Berg (20) are set to go out on loan again next season, while 25-year-old Nathaniel Phillips, currently playing for Bournemouth, is likely to be sold this summer.
With all this in mind, Liverpool obviously have no need to move for Bremer at the moment, and unless something drastic happens in the meantime, they’ll probably leave him to others to compete for.
