Liverpool to reignite Asensio interest

Real Madrid have informed a number of clubs across Europe that Marco Asensio is available in the transfer marker, according to Spanish outlet ABC (via the Mirror), and the information has put Liverpool on red alert with manager Jurgen Klopp believed to be a huge admirer of the 25-year-old.

The Merseysiders were linked with Asensio before, most notably in the aftermath of Philippe Coutinho’s departure to Barcelona back in January 2018, but Klopp made a few adjustments to his system and the club reinvested the money on the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Fabinho.

Asensio scored a hat-trick in Real’s win against Mallorca on September 22nd, his only goals so far in his first league start of the season, and he started the goalless draw against Villarreal three days later. However, he was left on the bench throughout the shocking Champions League defeat at home to Sheriff Tiraspol, and it seems the decision of boss Carlo Ancelotti not to give him a single second of it came as a surprise to the winger.
