Liverpool are set to step up their interest signing Luis Diaz from FC Porto next month, according to reports in Portugal (via Marca). They had the chance to experience Diaz’s quality over the two matches the two teams played in the Champions League group stage, and it seems the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was satisfied with what he saw.
Preferring to play on the left, the winger is also capable of doing a good job on the right flank, and his services would surely be extremely valuable to Liverpool during the winter, with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both set to leave for the African Cup of Nations. Further more, at the age of 24, his arrival would be a good step towards rejuvenating the attacking line, with Liverpool’s two star forwards turning 30 next year, and Roberto Firmino already there.
Diaz has 13 goal involvements (10 goals, three assists) in 13 Primeira Liga matches this season. He also has 31 caps and seven goals as a Colombia international to his name.
