Liverpool have submitted a new proposal for FC Porto forward Christian Atsu, Record has revealed.
The highly rated footballer has made it clear that he plans to leave Estadio do Dragao in the summer transfer window, and it would appear as though the Reds are leading the race for his signature.
After having the initial €3.5 million bid rejected for the 21-year-old, Liverpool have reportedly submitted a fresh offer worth €5.8 million.
Porto officials are currently considering the latest proposal, but given that the player has just one year left on his current deal, the Dragons have no choice but to cash in on him this summer.
Christian Atsu began his professional career at Estadio do Dragao, but it was the loan spell with Rio Ave that seriously aided his development.
Despite making just 17 league appearances last season, the youngster has earned himself a number of admirers from top European clubs.
