Liverpool want €90m for Coutinho as Barca step up chase

Catalan daily newspaper Sport has suggested that Barcelona have stepped up their interest in Liverpool hotshot Philippe Coutinho.

Following a largely disappointing campaign, the Catalans have decided to try and make the Brazilian their first marquee signing of the summer, and they seem to have already persuaded the attacker to move to Camp Nou.

However, while Liverpool are prepared to negotiate the sale, they reportedly want €90 million for their prized possession.

That is a lot more than Barcelona are willing to pay, but the Catalans will do everything in their power to reach an agreement with the Reds.

Philippe Coutinho could help engineer a move away from Anfield by informing the club chiefs of his desire to join Barca, so we definitely expect to see new developments in the coming weeks.

The 24-year-old spent last four and a half years with Liverpool, scoring 39 goals and producing 36 assists in 179 competitive outings.
