Liverpool are interested in signing James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. The England international attacking midfielder is out of contract at Leicester in the summer of 2024, and Premier League rivals Liverpool are keen on snapping up the 26-year-old at the end of the season.
Maddison and Leicester are in talks over a new contract. If the playmaker does not put to paper on a new deal, then former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could make a bid for him in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 42 points from 25 matches, just three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 26 matches. Meanwhile, Leicester currently find themselves 15th in the standings with 24 points from 25 games, two points above the relegation zone.
