According to Sport MediaSet, Liverpool wanted to sign Merih Demiral from Juventus in the January transfer window. It has been reported that the defending Premier League champions made a big-money bid for the 22-year-old central defender.
The report has added that Juventus value Demiral at £50 million and turned down the bid from Liverpool. The Merseyside outfit then moved on, and on transfer deadline day, Jurgen Klopp’s side brought in Ben Davies from Championship club Preston North End and Ozan Kabak on loan from German club Schalke, as they aim to win the Premier League title for the second season in a row.
Demiral has been on the books of Juventus since 2019 and has failed to make a massive impact at the Italian giants. According to WhoScored, the Turkey international central defender has made six starts and three substitute appearances in Serie A and has made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League so far this season.
