Liverpool yet to open Milner contract talks

Liverpool have not yet offered James Milner a new contract despite his impressive start to the campaign, according to the Mail Online.

The thirty-two-year-old has been one of the stand out performers for Jurgen Klopp’s side this term, who have kicked-off with six straight wins.

His current deal with the Merseyside outfit is due to expire at the end of next season and the Reds run the risk of losing him on a free transfer if they fail to secure his services.

Milner has spent his entire career in England and is closing in on five hundred Premier League appearances, so could be tempted by a move abroad while his hometown club Leeds United – where he began his career – are favourites for promotion to the top flight and so could provide another option.

Liverpool host Southampton on Saturday afternoon, with Milner priced at 2/1 to score at anytime in the game.
