Spanish daily AS reports that Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic has signed a pre-contract agreement with Milan with a view to joining the club next summer.
The Serbian footballer has just a year left on his deal at Artemio Franchi and is highly unlikely to sign a new contract with his current employers.
Atletico Madrid were hoping to sign the player in the summer transfer window having had a €10 million bid accepted, but only to learn that Ljajic had already committed his future to the Rossoneri.
While Milan were not prepared to splash the cash on the 21-year-old this summer, they have ensured to capture him on a free transfer in a year’s time.
Adem Ljajic has progressed a great deal over the last year or so, even if he had had a pretty difficult start to his career in Italy.
The Serbia international managed no less than 11 goals and 6 assists in 28 Serie A matches for Viola last term.
